Wade is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Virginia Taylor. Wade is also preceded in death by his parents William and Florence Taylor, brothers Albert Lee Taylor, Oscar Taylor, Judge Taylor, Henry Taylor, Cull Taylor, William Taylor, JD Taylor, Bobby Taylor, and sister Mary Taylor Helms. Wade is survived by one sister, Nell Taylor Mills of Monroe, NC. Wade is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Wade grew up in Union County, married the love of his life, Virginia, and soon moved to Concord to live. His working years were mainly with Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. Wade also worked countless hours farming and raising cattle. Wade and Virginia returned to Monroe in 1998.
Wade served honorably in the United States Army during World War II, spending most of his time serving in France. Wade had received orders to join forces moving into Japan but the war ended in 1945 allowing him to return home.
Wade and Virginia were long standing, faithful members of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Monroe, NC since 1953. They dearly loved their church family and were truly devoted to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They were unable to have children of their own but loved and influenced many young people over the years. They were truly a beautiful couple and are now once again reunited.
We would especially like to thank Brookdale Union Park and Community Hospice for their dedicated care of Wade over these past eight years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church or Community Hospice.
Visitation will be at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 am, funeral to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
