Born on April 24, 1961 to the late Ray Honeycutt, Sr. and Frances Helms Honeycutt, Ray was a Union County native and was a graduate of Piedmont High School. He was an active member of the Lions Club for many years as well as a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Monroe, North Carolina. Ray also had many interests and hobbies in his life including hunting, fishing, gardening, and collecting arrowheads.
Ray is survived by his sisters, Monra Doster (Clete) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Sherry Mitchell (Jim) of Sparks, Nevada; nieces, Ann Carruthers (Mike) of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Jan Telles (Don) of Las Vegas, Nevada; nephews, Greg Doster (Carmen) of Mount Belvieu, Texas, and Brent Doster (Melissa) of San Diego, California; best friends, Kim Hinson of Monroe, North Carolina, and David and Joan Hinson of Monroe, North Carolina; as well as many other cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held following the visitation in the McEwen Colonial Chapel at 1:15 pm with Rev. Steven Watkins and Rev. Marvin Tyson officiating. Burial will then follow the service at Lakeland Memorial Park.
