Elizabeth Mangum Cox

Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Mangum Cox, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Hospice of Union County, (McWhorter House). Mrs. Cox was born December 24, 1925 in Chesterfield County, daughter of the late Wilford Curtis and Josephine Porter Mangum. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Warren Cox who died in 2009. Visitation will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cox will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Dac Croasmun and Reverend Don Lisk officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Survivors include one son: Randy W. Cox (Joyce) of Monroe, two daughters: Ann Simpson (Bobby) of Stallings, Mitzi Cox McManus (Jimmy) of Monroe. Six grandchildren: Amy Ford (Jason), Kim Adkins (Alex), Michael Cox (Betsy), Randi Helms (Chris), Megan Ralph, Shelby McManus, and thirteen great grandchildren.
