Phyllis Eileen Kempf, longtime resident of Monroe passed away on October 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was 86. Born in St. Albans, Queens, NY on August 17, 1938, she was the daughter of Frederick and Hazel Maby (nee Peckham) and the youngest of four children.
Raised in St. Albans, Phyllis spoke fondly of her youth in New York City, where she went dancing often with friends and enjoyed listening to music. She could frequently be found listening to her tapes of 50’s and 60’s music and singing along. She moved to Monroe in 1978 with her late husband William and her two sons. She enjoyed going thrifting and to the Monroe Library with her granddaughter Kaley, having lunch with her friends at the diner and attending the Easton Senior Center. She was an avid reader and had a flair for decorating her home. She never missed displaying her favorite holiday decorations, especially Halloween and Christmas. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons William Kempf (Linda) of Monroe, CT and James Kempf (Wendi) of Midland, North Carolina, and her grandchildren, Dusti, Kaley, Brooke and Ian. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
