William “Andrew” Walton, age 17, passed away suddenly on March 7, 2015. He is survived by his loving family, parents, William “Willie” Walton and Nancy Tanner Walton, and sister, Mary Riley Walton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman James Walton, Mary Godfrey Walton, B.C. Tanner, Jr. and Annie Laura Riley Tanner, uncle, Thomas Edward Walton and cousins, Andrew Blair Walton and Marshall James Walton. He will be forever missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Andrew was very sensitive to those he loved. He possessed an adventurous spirit and was confident and independent. He was a junior at UMS-Wright Preparatory School where he participated in track and cross country. Andrew’s first love was the outdoors. He loved fishing and was an avid hunter. From an early age Andrew always had a job. He loved working whether it was at a Christmas tree lot or with his Dad at the family business and later with his Uncle, Johnny Walton. Andrew was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church and its youth group and an active member of Young Life.
Visitation will be in the Fellowship Hall of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church beginning at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. A memorial service celebrating Andrew’s life will follow at noon in the church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Hishta, Luke Walton, Christopher Walton, Jason Walton, Lee McKeithan, Jack Allen, Stephen Chiepalich, Vince Cave, Jr. and Matthew Kiszla. Honorary pallbearers will be the UMS-Wright Class of 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the CCA-Bernie Heggeman Reef Project, P.O. Box 16987, Mobile, AL 36616, in memory of Andrew Walton.
