Thomas F. (Mickey) Savage III, A native of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home in Gainesville, Georgia on Sunday, October 28th. Mickey graduated from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in 1975 and studied at the University of South Alabama. Mickey was well known for his generous nature towards everyone, his self-proclaimed knowledge of sports trivia (which we would say he was more right than wrong), and his avid love of sports, especially the 2018 World Series winner, the Boston Red Sox. Mickey loved his family, but what he really enjoyed was spending time with his nieces and nephews, and when they had kids, he turned into an athletic Wilford Brimley, full of warmth and advice on the right way to swing a golf club. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas F Savage Jr. He is survived by his mother, Alice (Savage) Mosley, his brother, Dennis Savage, and his sister Janice Savage Wagner. He is also survived by his nephews, Joshua Jackson and Denny Savage Jr., his nieces, Ashley Jackson Whipple and Kelli Savage Stoltz, his great nephews, Aden Jackson, Max Savage, Ben Savage and JJ Stoltz, his great niece, Alice Olivia Whipple, and numerous aunts and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at 5:30pm until 7:00pm on Friday, November 2nd at Radney Funeral home located at 3155 Dauphin Street Mobile, AL, 36606.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Boys & Girls Club https://www.boysgirlsclubs.com/donate/. For years, Mickey participated heavily in the annual Holiday Golf Classic at Lanier Islands on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club of Lanier. He acquired memorabilia from The Atlanta Falcons and from Vince Dooley, former head coach of The University of Georgia, to auction off at the tournament. This was an organization very close to Mickey's heart.
