Shirley Jean Taylor Stewart, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Mobile, Alabama. She was born to Robert Lee Taylor and Flora Mae Phillips Taylor on February 12, 1950 in Meridian, Mississippi. Shirley graduated from Bishop State Community College as a registered nurse. She went on to retired from Providence Hospital, Chest Pain Center in 2011. Shirley was a devout Christian, and had an insurmountable faith in the Lord. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Grand Bay, Alabama. Shirley was a family woman, and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. Before her husband, Thomas Lee Stewart, passed away, they enjoyed traveling together. Shirley loved her fur babies, Belle and Bandit, and quilting with her friends. She was a generous, kind, and loving woman, and will be greatly missed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Lee Stewart; parents, Robert Lee Taylor and Flora Mae Taylor; and one infant son, William Leo Harper.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert Brian Stewart (Lori) and Thomas Shane Stewart (Leighann); grandson, A.J. McKittrick; granddaughters, Madisyn Sangalang, Arianna Stewart, Kadence Stewart, Sabrina Woolf, and Loren Bradley; great-grandchildren, Emma Woolf, Kenneth Flores, Eliana Bradley, Addalyn Bradley and MacKenzie Bradley; sister, Kathy Markline (George); a sister-in-law, Diane Stewart Davis; as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
The family would like to give special appreciation to Shirley’s best friend and neighbor, Stacy Abbot.
