She was born to William Sanders Morrison and Annie Jo Chandler Morrison in Covington County, Alabama on November 29, 1942.
Sandra was a graduate of Semmes High School and Auburn University. She taught Home Economics in Cincinnati, Ohio, when the family lived there for a short while. When Sandra returned home to Mobile, she taught grammar school in Mobile for a few years. After her stint in education, Sandra began working for Mobile Government Employees Credit Union, where she retired after over 30 years of service.
Sandra was a Godly woman and was strong in her faith. She taught first-grade Sunday School for decades, sang in the church choir, and was a charter member of West Mobile Baptist Church. She loved her family with all her heart – her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – and made it her life’s mission to make sure she made a good home for them. She was generous, kind, and extraordinary, and will be greatly missed.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Billy Joe Morrison; and one infant brother, Dickie Morrison.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James “Jamie” Hildreth; her two sons, Darren Scott Hildreth (Lesley) and Christian Shea Hildreth (Angela); six grandchildren, Rachel Breniser (Caleb), Jacob Hildreth, Caleb Hildreth, Rebecca Hildreth, Abigail Hildreth, and Andrew Hildreth; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Easton; a brother, Jack Morrison (Sandra); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
A private Family Service was held in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Livestreaming of the Service will be available at www.facebook.com/pinecrestfuneralhome/ at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the WeMo Kids' Bibles Fund at West Mobile Baptist Church, 251-639-9952.
