Mrs. Ruth Marie Schaffer, age 86, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband John Frederick Schaffer, parents and three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Schaffer was a devout Catholic and member of Our Savior Catholic Church. Mrs. Schaffer is survived by her nine children; Sheila (Reynold) Barron, Theresa (William) Gegenheimer, John (Debbie) Schaffer, III, Rose French, Michael (Cheryl) Schaffer, William (Kris) Schaffer, Mark (Kathy) Schaffer, Kara (Stan) Bosarge and Paul A. Schaffer. She is also survived by her 35 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, many other family members and friends. She will be fondly remembered by her family as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Our Savior Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
