Ruth Miriam Rosen Berger – born September 2, 1931 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama passed peacefully at her home on November 21, 2023. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Sara Rosen, and her beloved husband of over 66 years, Norman Berger. She will be forever loved and missed by her daughter, Karen Vanore (John); son, Harry Berger; granddaughter, Sara Rewkiewicz (Jas); sister-in-law, Ros Berger; nieces and nephews. Ruth attended the University of Alabama and was one of the first females to graduate from Spring Hill College. For many years, she could be seen walking in the Bit and Spur neighborhood wearing her Alabama shirt with her friends, then would spend time at the reception desk at her husband’s and son’s dental practice. Ruth was a member of Ahavas Chesed Sisterhood and as an avid reader, she belonged to numerous book clubs. The family would like to thank Kathy, Antionette, Queenie, Virginia, Christie, Kiki, Angela, Jackie, Andrew, and Matthew, along with Tori from Kindred/Gentiva Hospice for their help and support. Graveside services will be held at the Ahavas Chesed Cemetery on Owens Street of Virginia Street on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. with Rabbi Steven Silberman officiating.
