Visitation will be 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Radney Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home with Chaplin Ed Connick officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest West. He will have a military and masonic funeral.
Ronnie was born in Mobile, AL to William Wallace and Mary Lucille Young Smith on May 27, 1948. He married Deborah Smith on May 28, 1999 in Mobile, AL. He was a veteran of Vietnam and proudly served 22 years in the United States Army before retiring as a First Sergeant. He was a Green Beret in Special Forces, a Master Parachutist, Jump Master, and Special Forces Under Water Operations. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Special Forces Tab, Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Star and two Bronze Stars, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Ronnie was an active member of the Freemasonry.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents William Wallace and Mary Lucille Young Smith. Siblings, Hilma Louise Smith Cameron, William “Bill” Wallace Smith, Connie Lenore Smith, and Sidney Wayne Smith.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Barstow Smith; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Smith (Cyndi); daughter and spouse, Jennifer Rebecca Smith (Becky); son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Edward Smith, Jr. ( Kristy); daughter and son-in-law, Maryann Smith Davis (Jason) , Marshall Franklin Barstow (Kara), Megan Barstow Herrboldt (Erik); grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Kenneth Vaughn, Shelby Smith, Grady Davis, Ryder Barstow, Paxton Barstow, Saylor-Grace Barstow, Shelbeigh Barstow, Bradeigh Barstow, Mathew Herrboldt, Ellis Herrboldt, brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews and a host of friends that were like family.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Smith, Jr., Bryan Smith, Kenneth Vaughan, Erik Herrboldt, Jason Davis, Thomas Creighton, John Thomas Jenkins, Howard Byrd

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scottish Rite Almoner's Fund or Lifegate through Christ United Methodist.

Mr. Smith's family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the service time at 12:00 PM with a Rosary at 10:30 AM at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606. A full military honors committal service will follow at Pine Crest West 1599 Snow Road, Mobile, AL
