Noel Bryce Cole

Noel Bryce Cole was the fifth of seven sons born to Emery and Lillie Cole on April 1, 1948 in Charity Chapel, AL. He died in a local hospital on December 26, 2023. He was a 1966 graduate of Vigor High School. He went on to graduate from both University of South Alabama with a Bachelors Degree and Mobile College with a Masters Degree. He was a devoted employee of Union Carbide/UOP in Chickasaw for 34 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers John and PeeWee Cole. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Meg Dahlberg Cole; his son Steve Cole, two daughters Lynne Cole and Becky (Andrew) McNatt; 4 grandchildren Nicholas Clifton, Katie Clifton, Walker McNatt and Wesley McNatt; 4 brothers Mike, Doy, Boyd, and Billy Cole, along with sisters in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving relatives and friends.

Noel enjoyed spending time with his family, sitting on the front porch, being on the golf course, collecting pennies, and drinking bourbon. During his childhood and high school years he excelled at both football and baseball. As he got older he continued his love for sports, by playing softball for both Chickasaw UMC and Union Carbide and coaching girls softball. He also found great delight in attending all of the activities his grandchildren were involved with.

A father to 3 and a father figure to many, he was always available and willing to give advice and guidance. His wisdom could be counted on to lead you in the right direction and was always based on God’s word.

Visitation for Noel will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, Alabama. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home, with interment immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
