Mary was a devout, lifelong Catholic. She graduated from Bishop Toolen High School before marrying the love of her life, Horace “Teddy” Taylor. Mary and her family lived in California, Alaska, Florida, Texas, and Indiana while Teddy served in the United States Air Force. When Teddy retired from the service, they returned to the Mobile area. Throughout her life, Mary found joy in serving others as she often worked in food service and was an amazing cook, always sharing delicious food and recipes with family and friends. She couldn’t help but give, feeding most of the critters in the neighborhood as well. Mary retired from Marriott International, having worked at the Spring Hill College Golf Course Snack Bar. She was everyone’s favorite aunt and loved having the extended family gathered at her house. Mary will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Her love knew no bounds.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Harold and Idella Clyatt Martin; husband, Horace “Teddy” Landon Taylor; son, Timothy “Timmy” Taylor; sister, Marvell Idella Martin Cantrell; and brothers, Harold, John, Guy, and William Martin. She is survived by her son, Bryan Martin Taylor; daughter, Melinda “Mindy” Catherine Taylor Hamm (Paul), grandsons Christopher and Kenneth Hamm, and a very long list of nieces and nephews.
