Mary "Dumpy"" Louise Duffy

Mary Louise Duffy, affectionately known as “Dumpy”, age 92, born November 22, 1927, native of Mobile, AL, passed away at her home on February 8, 2020. Mrs. Duffy is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Bernard Duffy,Sr. parents, Louis B. and Lydia Idell Murray Thublin, daughter, Debra Marie Culbreth and sister, Vivian Marie Antoine.

Mrs. Duffy worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Morgan & Lindsey. She was a charter member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Her greatest love was family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Lady Auxillary of Post 49.

Mrs. Duffy is survived by her children; William B. Duffy, Jr. and his wife Evelyn, John “Bart” Duffy and his wife, Sandy and Louise A. Glenn and her husband, Steve; eight grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and a host of many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Murphy Center. A memorial mass will immediately follow in the church. A private inurnment will be held in the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to St. Dominic Catholic Church in Mrs. Duffy’s honor.
