Marjorie Folds Smith

Marjorie Folds Smith - 85, a native of Abbeville, AL, raised in Greenville, AL, longtime resident of Mobile, and a current resident of Robertsdale passed away at her home on Sunday, January 19, 2014. She retired as a clerk from the Mobile County Board of Registrars after 26 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Silverhill and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, William Thomas Folds and Bessie Mae Hutto Folds; mother, Gaynell Moore Folds; husband of 50 years, Jack C. Smith, Sr.; brother, Ed Folds; and sister, Frances F. Preston. She is survived by her children, Rev Jack C. Smith, Jr. (Carolyn), Diane S. Hallstrom (Darryl), and Rev. Mike Smith (Pam); grandchildren, Stacey Carroll (Jeff), Jennifer Burgess (Andy), Andy Windham, Angela Price (Jeremy), Abby Smith, and Philip Smith; siblings, Cecil Folds (Gina), Pat Anderson, Lilly Waller (Tommy), Wanda Atchison (Billy), and James Folds (Mary); sisters-in-law, Joyce Winters and Merlene Folds; 9 great-grnadchildren; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the servie hour.
