Margie was born on June 20, 1944 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, the youngest daughter of Rephus Oliver Cooper and Evelyn Elizabeth Cooper. She attended Baker High School where she was a cheerleader. Her work life was spent mostly in the food and beverage industry, where she never met a stranger. She was beloved for her laughter and quick wit. A favorite family event was playing Pinochle around the kitchen table with her parents and siblings, along with enjoying family fish fry and barbeque events. Margie collected depression glass and other antiquities as she traveled the world.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Melissa Weaver Burleson (Darryl), sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Roberts and Olivia (Libby) Tolbert, nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Tom Weaver in 2006 and by her husband Terry Paraskevas in 2020, parents Rephus & Evelyn Cooper and her brother Millard “Chuck” Cooper.
Visitation will be at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy., Mobile, AL on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer’s Foundation.
