Linda Pritchett Thomas passed away on Sunday morning, August 2, 2020, with her family at her side, at her home in Mobile. Linda was born on March 13, 1950. She was a native of Thomaston, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carolyn McCreary Pritchett and James Leonard Pritchett of Thomaston.
Linda is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Dr. Earl Gaines Thomas and three sons, Earl Gaines Thomas, Jr. (Celeste), Wilson Adam McCreary Thomas (Anne Wright) and Dr. Benjamin Carter Thomas (Amelia) and two brothers, George Wilson Pritchett (Lisa) and James Leonard Pritchett, Jr. (Connie) and her six beloved grandchildren, Mary Stallworth Thomas, Earl Gaines Thomas, III, Leah Grace Thomas, Anne Pritchett Thomas, Benjamin Carter Thomas, Jr., and Wilson Adam McCreary Thomas, Jr.
Linda was a graduate of Marengo County High School and Auburn University, where she was an English and Biology major and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She was a deeply devoted wife and mother and was patient, kind, caring, and gracious. Linda was a Southern Lady. She had many talents and enjoyed working with her plants and flowers and cooking, especially her seafood gumbo. She loved decorating for special occasions, particularly Christmas.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall beginning two hours prior to the service. Face coverings and social distancing are requested and the sanctuary will have limited seating. Interment will be in the Thomaston Cemetery, Thomaston, Alabama at 4:00 p.m.
