Josie D. Carr

Mrs. Josie Dunkley Carr , age 94, of Wilmer, AL passed away at her home on Friday, November 22, 2013 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Carr, daughter, Joe Ann Miller, parents and six siblings. Mrs. Carr retired from Civil Service and was a member of the Eastern Star for over fifty years. She was a lifelong member of Christian Church of Mobile and was a member of Wilmer United Methodist Church for over twenty years. She will be remembered by her family as a woman of great faith, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Carr is survived by her children; Arthur “Ray” Carr of Pascagoula, MS and Janet Carr Brannan (Mal) of Wilmer, AL. She also leaves to cherish her memory seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Wilmer United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Wilmer Cemetery, Wilmer, AL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wilmer United Methodist Church or Gentiva Hospice, Mobile, Al.
