John Henry Jordan – a 92 year-old native of Whistler, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Mr. Jordan retired from the civil service as Deputy Director at Brookley Field after many years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps serving in the European Theater of Operations. Mr. Jordan was a member of the Elks Lodge, the V.F.W., the Air Force Association, and several mystic societies. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Jordan and Annie Perry Jordan, and his first wife, Mildred Broadus Jordan. Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ann Moore Jordan; children, Fred N. Moore, Jr. (Michelle), Margie Sullivan (Jimmy), Honor Hartzes (George), Chris Moore (Tina), Mike Moore (Faye), Stephanie Bradford (Jeff), Joseph Moore (Lydia), and Kathy Fisher (Steve); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; nieces, including Maureen Caine, Tootsie Brown (Charlie), and Mary Frances Haas; nephews; other relatives and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Saad’s Hospice Care and Mr. Jordan’s caregivers for all of their care and support. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Monday, April 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 10, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
