Joan Torrans Tew – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Monday, January 2, 2012 at her residence. Joan retired from the Mobile Press-Register after over 30 years of service. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the Golden Age Club, and a mystic society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph V. and Irita K. Torrans. Joan is survived by two daughters, Debbie Presley and Irita (Tommy) Goodman; two grandchildren, Joey (Allie) Presley and Tabitha Presley and her fiancé Michael Moore; two great-grandchildren, Collin Presley and M. J. Moore; a special friend, Elizabeth Smith; numerous cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from Little Flower Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Saturday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Little Flower Golden Age Club, c/o Little Flower Catholic Church, 2053 Government Street, Mobile, AL 36606. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
