Jean was a life-long resident of Mobile. She graduated from Murphy High School, Class of 1970, and attended Jacksonville State. Jean spent most of her professional life in the banking industry. She was a member of the D’Iberville DAR. Jean also loved to travel – especially in Europe – and went as often as time permitted. She was forever thankful to family and friends, including Reverend Thomas Heard of St. John’s Episcopal Church, for their love and support throughout her illness. Jean had many long-term friendships that provided comfort and brought much happiness.
Jean is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Clifton L. Brown; and her brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph B.E. (Joe) Brown, formerly of San Diego and presently of Mobile. She is also survived by Cliff’s children, Jeanne Brown Miesch, of Argyle,TX; (Bill) and Clifton L. Brown, Jr. of Mobile; and three cherished grandsons, Charlie Miesch, Noah Miesch, and Owen Miesch. Jean is also survived by her five sisters: Margie Meador Duhon, Barbara J. Meador, Shirley Meador Hall, (Craig), Sandra Meador Wilson, (Gene) and D. Kay Meador – as well as much loved nephews, Ben Duhon, Carson Hall, (Emily) and Griffin Hall.
Jean was preceded in passing by her parents, Alva and Audrey Meador; and grandparents, Thomas and Vivian Booth – all of Mobile.
Visitation for Jean will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a chapel service immediately following. The interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them in a Celebration of Life Reception after the service.
