James Donald Melton

James Donald Melton, 82, born August 16, 1938 in Excel, AL. passed away on April 22, 2021 in Mobile, AL. James was a retired CPA., he was a Deacon at Fulton Road Baptist Church, former treasurer of the Red Elephant Club, an avid tennis player and ALABAMA Football Fan.

James was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Melton Dobbs Schneider; parents, Alvin R. Melton ; a brother, Carson Melton and a brother-in-law, Earl Sigler.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eleanor Douglas Melton; children, Darrell (Cynthia) Melton and Dennis J. Melton; his mother, Alyne Dulaney Coker; grandchildren, Hunter (Mary) Melton, Kyle Melton, Lauren (Bart) Andrews and Caroline (Tanner) Merchant; great grandchildren, Aubrey Merchant and Adalynn Andrews; step great grandchildren, Eleanor Andrews and Jackson Andrews, siblings, Dorothy (Doug) Wilson and Joyce Sigler, also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home – Mobile, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Radney Funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with interment following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
