Jacqueline Smith Yockers

Jacqueline Smith Yockers, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. Died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in a local hospital at the age of ninety-one. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Joseph Rolston Yockers. Her parents Grover Cleveland Smith and Lillian West Smith, three sisters, Frances McConnico, Senie Barrick, and Joyce Barrick. Jackie attended Raphael Semmes Elementary School, Barton Academy and graduated from Murphy High School. She was employed with Star Fish and Oyster Company for a number of years. She met Joe (Rody) and they danced the nights away for the next 52 Years. Jackie loved Jesus, life, people, her family, and her Parish, St. Joseph’s Jesuits Church. She is survived by three nephews, John (Merrill Ann) Barrick of Hamilton, Ohio, Ronald Barrick and Johnathan Barrick. Two great nieces, Alisa (Jeff) Dinkel and Sharon (Kurt) Williams, a great nephewJeff (Karen) Barrick, and a neice Carol Jean Cochrane. Jackie had many special friends including Ross and Dixie Pritchard.She was very appreciative and always touched by her caring help and visitors. Special thanks to Crowne Healthcare of Springhill and her bingo buddies. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church located at 808 Springhill Avenue on Monday, July 31. 2017 at 10:00 A.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
