Felix A. Griffin, affectionately known as Tony, was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Georgia Johnson Griffin, as well as his parents Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Griffin, brothers James Roy Griffin and Warren Gee Griffin, sisters Flora Dee Dwayne and Ann Elizabeth Ritchie, and his dear friend Sue Ralley.
He is survived by his daughter Charlotte McRae (Walter) of Spanish Fort, AL, son Tony Griffin of Fairhope, AL, as well as sisters Frances Pittman and Edna Griffin.
He is also survived by four grandchildren who knew him as “Papa”: Terri Holley (Craig) Chattanooga, TN; Walter McRae, Jr., Plano, TX; Danna Bramlett (Bill) Spanish Fort, AL; Jennifer Gordon (Brodie) Fairhope, AL; and 8 great grandchildren: Krista Dunbar, Chattanooga, TN; Ann Elizabeth Holley, New York, NY; Sara Holley, Chattanooga, TN; Allison Wrinkle (Wyatt), Kema, TX; Ansley Wilson (Steven), Laurel, MS; Evan Bean, Okinawa, Japan; Annabel and Georgia Gordon, Fairhope, AL; and great great granddaughter Lila Bean Wrinkle.
He was born in Lawrenceburg, TN, but he lived in Mobile for most of his life, moving to Bay Minette in 2001. He retired from civil service in 1977. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay Minette where he sang with the Happy Hearts. He volunteered at the Senior Center and was voted Best Dressed by the Volunteer Association of Bay Minette.
Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2019 at Pine Crest Funeral Home beginning at 2pm followed by a Graveside service at 3pm at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to The First Baptist Church of Bay Minette.
