Janice Earleen Wheeler “Big Mama”, 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 29th, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 2nd, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama. Earleen was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family. She set an example for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that will lead them all of their lives. Earleen was a dedicated member of the Church of the Lord’s Disciples. She loved God’s Word and her Savior the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. Though she was a humble and gentle woman, Earleen was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and her community.
Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in passing by her parents; Willie and Esta Faye Johnson, her brothers; Mance Johnson, Van Irvin Johnson, Fuzzy Johnson, Gary Johnson, Clinton Johnson, Roger Johnson, her sisters; Tonya Johnson, Edith “Toot” Newell.
Left to cherish Earleen’s wonderful memories will be her husband of 59 years, Earl Wheeler, daughter, Angela Jenkins, sons; Earl “Bo” Wheeler (Lisa), Willie Wheeler (Katrina), grandchildren; Kayla Byrd (Justin), Emily Wilson, Kameron Wheeler (Haley), Keniesha Wells (Matt), Brandon Jenkins, Malorie Miller, Jacob Wheeler (Savannah), Lydia Wheeler, great-grandchildren; Khloe, Parker, Gracie, Marlee, Ava, Ady, Dawson, Kade, Rhett, Owen Marcie, Layton, Waylon, Liam, Gabbie Mae, her brothers; Glen Johnson, Ralph Johnson, cherished niece; Brooke Turner, beloved nephews; “Murdock” Miller, Matt Miller, her precious great niece; Isabella, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
A visitation for Earleen will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Church of the Lord’s Disciples, 11095 Catherine Creek Dr, Mobile, AL 36608, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
Earleen will be laid to rest in Pierce Creek Cemetery, 9155 Tanner Williams Rd., Mobile, AL 36608.
