Duane A. Herbst, born on July 27, 1946, in Brighton, MI, passed away on September 30, 2024, in Irvington, AL. A proud veteran, Duane served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years before dedicating the next 30 years of his life to Exxon Mobil.
Duane was married to Barbara Herbst, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 24 years. He is survived by his children, Jeff Herbst (Kim), Scott Herbst (Christianne), Wendy Cyrier (Robert), Tiffani Phillips (Jeremy), Alicia Kasprowicz, and Daniel Williamson. Duane was also a cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandfather to 5 great-grandchildren.
He is remembered by his brothers, Dennis Herbst (Jan) and Larry Herbst (Beverly), as well as his brother-in-law, Danny Tesney (Cindy).
He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Ruth Herbst and a sister Donna Herbst.
A compassionate soul, Duane had a deep love for Alabama Football and was well known for his affection towards his three fur babies, Ollie, CoCo, and BooBoo. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
