Donald Jerry Yawn 80 of Mobile, Alabama passed peacefully on November 29th, 2020. He spent his last days surrounded by family and friends. Jerry was born to Connie and William Yawn on May 11, 1940 in Mobile, Alabama. He was married to his loving wife Gail for 32 years.
Jerry was a Golden Glove Champion in 1958 and became a First Responder with the Mobile Fire Department in 1964 retiring after 29 years of service. Jerry was a charter member of a Mystic organization and a lifelong fan of Alabama Football. ROLL TIDE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Connie and William and his brother, William "Billy" Yawn. He is survived by his wife Gail Yawn, sisters, Beverly "Joy" Roberts, Sherron Ann Gunnin (Larry) and Betty Bush (Ron) and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday December 4th, 2020 from 9-9:30 for immediate family and from 9:30-12 for family and friends. Funeral Mass will be at St.Pius Catholic Church Following the service there will be a procession to Pine Crest Cemetery for a grave side service. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the graveside services at the Mobile Mystics float barn on St. Anthony Street. All are invited to attend.
