Mrs. Dolores Elaine (Palmer) McDonald-Was called to heaven on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. She is a native of Brighton, South Dakota and a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. Mrs. McDonald was highly respected and she was loved by her children, family, and friends. She liked everyone and never met a stranger. Mrs. McDonald was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, American Legion Post 250, a member and past president of local mystic society, past member of the local Bromeliad Society, and the 50Plus Club. She was preceded in death by her parents George Marvin Palmer and Mary Victoria (Bradford) Palmer; her loving husband of 52 years Francis Leon McDonald; and her son David Francis McDonald. Mrs. McDonald is survived by her children William Leslie (Claire) McDonald of Shreveport, LA, Melodie Elaine McDonald (Richard) Drach, Paul Bradford (Nancy) McDonald, and Marc Palmer (Itina) McDonald: her sister Mary Pearl Palmer Taylor. Her sisters-in-law Peggy McDonald, Katherine McDonald, and Catherine McDonald all of Mobile AL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Special friends Betty Brooks, Brent, Chani, and Kolby Johnson, and Jenny Dixon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on Monday August 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. Mrs. McDonald will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Legion Post 250, or the Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
