It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother Deborah Lynn Tanner. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived a full life of love, compassion, and dedication. She was most known for her kind heart, unwavering support for her family, And her remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter to anyone around her.
As a mother, her selfless devotion, inspired her daughters, Melissa and Ellen. She made incredible sacrifices to ensure her daughters received the best possible upbringing. Melissa is eternally appreciative for her mother‘s patience and forgiveness, even through the challenging years. The extraordinary bond between Deborah and Ellen, who lovingly cared for her mother in her final years, stands as a testament to the transformative power of love. The time she had with her will always be a cherished part of her life. Her son-in-law Dustin was a pillar of strength for Deborah and Ellen, always ready to lend a helping hand every day or night. The invaluable lessons she imparted will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
She shared the most special bond with her grandchildren, Daelyn (Brayden), Wyatt (who she called her redheaded cowboy), Dakotah and Riley. She cherished every moment spent with them. She shared stories and gave wisdom and always celebrated their achievements. She filled their lives with so much love and laughter. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved being a huge part of their lives. They will remember their Mawmaw and cherish her forever.
Deborah had many talents. She had a remarkable passion for sewing that she learned from her own mother. It was a true gift to her family. She created the most beautiful dresses and clothes for her daughters and later, heartfelt pieces for her grandchildren.
She was such a remarkable individual. She had a love of music and reading. She had a voice that could light up any room. Many may not know, but in her younger years, she played the upright Bass in a Bluegrass band. Music wasn’t just a hobby, but a part of her life. It was an integral part of our entire lives. She was an avid reader. You could always find her with a book, often finishing it in one day. She instilled this love for learning in her children, teaching them both to read well before their school aged years.
Professionally, Deborah’s remarkable 25 year career as an office manager and accountant at Langan construction company in Mobile. Alabama showcased her steadfast expertise, precision and professionalism, earning her admiration and respect of colleagues and peers alike.
Her kindness and generosity inspired those around her, and her legacy will live on through the countless lives she’s touched. Her wit and sense of humor were a blessing, able to bring joy and laughter to even the most difficult days. Her ability to make people feel seen and appreciated was a rare gift. It always inspired those around her to be a better version of themselves.
We will miss mama so much, but knowing she is with our Father in Heaven, and she is no longer suffering gives us great comfort. You will be loved and remembered always.
A special thanks to Southern Care Hospice and her amazing care team, Lea Ruffer and Ashley Henries. Mama truly loved both of you ladies.
