Chester Verlon Cochran – age 60, born in Whistler, Alabama, and a resident of Kushla, Alabama passed away at his home on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Chester was an avid lover of hunting fishing, playing pool, traveling to the mountains, and loved his trips to the casino. He enjoyed making memories with his family. Chester was a welder by trade and could build, make, or design anything from a piece of wood or a sheet of metal. His true loves were his dog, Russell, and his best friend, Carrie Taylor. He shared and made many memories with his other family at The Barn, where he played pool for many years.
Chester was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Solomon Turner Cochran and Thelma Cochran; maternal grandparents, Verlon and Gladys Smith; and mother, Patricia Gail Smith Cochran. He is survived by his father, Aubrey Cochran (Arlene); brothers, Aubrey “Sonny” Cochran, Jr. (Bonnie), Woody Cochran (Melinda), and Patrick Cochran (Robin); children, Wendy Conway, C.J. Cochran (Tiffany), Brent Cochran (Kaytlin); Jeremiah Cochran (Karissa), and Nick Cochran (Kayla); 14 grandchildren, Jasmine, Genesis, Jasper, Justin, Tyler, Monica, Sam, Hazel, Kylie, Verlon, Aubrey, Alexis, Anna, and Wyatt; great-grandchild, Kolby; his loving dog, Russell; his dear friend, Carrie Taylor; many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, his nurses, Jesse and Stephanie, and Mrs. Mary.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the service hour.
