Mrs. Carolyn Marie Spann – a native of Elba, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL for the past 52 years, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Spann was an active member of The Baptist Chapel. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking for others, watching her Atlanta Braves, and spending time with her grandsons. She also enjoyed gardening and had a love for animals. She retired from Sear’s Service Department after 35 years of service. Mrs. Spann was preceded in death by one daughter, Edith Jane Broadus; and her infant granddaughter, Christina Marie Broadus. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James D. Spann; two children, Tammy Sue Robinson and James Eddie Spann; one sister, Karen Morris of Chesapeake, VA; two grandsons, Nicholas James Robinson and Daniel Joseph Broadus; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
