Carolyn Redmond Powell – Born September 6, 1935 and went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Carolyn taught preschool at Crawford Baptist Church for over 20 years, having a lifelong impact on her students’ lives. She was a Godly woman and devout Christian. She was a member of Crawford United Methodist Church where she attended for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She loved to cook. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wesley Powell; her parents, Harry Edward Redmond and Jeanette (Hall) Redmond; her twin sisters, Jean Dees and Joan (James) George; and her grandsons, Caleb Evans and Jody Powell. She is survived by her children, David (Cindy) Powell, Darla (James) Evans, Darren (Shannon) Powell, and Dana (Dudley) Mask; grandchildren, Heather (Steven) McFarland, Ryan (Lynlee) Evans, Justin Evans, Jacob Evans, Kevin (Bridgette) Powell, Zachary Mask, Camille Mask, Braxton Mask, and Josh Mask; great-grandchildren, Conner, Karleigh and Jaxon Powell, Sinclair and Caleb Evans, and Evan and Molly McFarland; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 13, 2024 at 1 pm from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 pm prior to services. Interment will be in Spring Hill Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are Ryan Evans, Justin Evans, Jacob Evans, Kevin Powell, Zachary Mask, Braxton Mask, Josh Mask, and Sammy Robbins.
