Mr. Carl O. Griffin, a native of Fowler, OH. And a resident of Mobile, AL., died Monday, January 9, 2017, at Covenant Care of Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. Mr. Griffin served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a Communications Technician for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad until his retirement in 1982. He was also an active deacon and choir member for several decades at Riverside Baptist Church in Mobile, AL.
Mr. Griffin is survived by survived by 4 daughters, Sandra (David) Blakeney of Huntsville, AL, Carla (Douglas) Bilbrey of Mobile, AL., Denise Griffin of Mobile, AL, Angela (Alan) Fant of Mobile, AL.; 1 sister Eva Cornfield of Vienna, OH.; 3 brothers, Donald Griffin of Farmdale, OH., Charles Griffin of Ocala, FL. And Arthur Griffin of Howland, OH. 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 2:00 pm, with graveside services and military honors following. Mr. Griffin will lie in state from 12:00- 2:00 pm, during which time the family will receive friends.
