He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Ann Wells, his mother Aline (Toulmin) Wells,

his father Leonard Aubrey Wells, his brother William Wells, and his sister Carol Stapleton.

Brad was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his

wife of 52 years, Rose Ann (Finch) Wells, of Mobile, son Joshua (Andrea) Wells, three loving

grandchildren, Noah, Jaxson, Abigail Rose, a host of loving nieces and nephews, and one

devoted Chihuahua, Taco.

Brad was born on March 2, 1952, in Mobile and graduated from Davidson High School in 1970.

He and Rose Ann raised their family on Mobile Bay. Brad wore many hats over the course of

his lifetime. His various vocations included serving as an optician, a retail store manager, a real

estate salesman, a Frito-Lay district manager, and the owner of a hardware store, restaurant, and food truck. He was a local political activist, serving as a former county commissioner candidate’s

campaign manager, and a lifelong, staunch protector of Mobile Bay and its surrounding

resources. Exxon Corp. did not stand a chance when they tried to create a liquid nitrogen

facility down the street from him, nor did the coal company that had previously tried to put a coal

handling facility in the same location.

Brad was also a former football, baseball, and volleyball coach, and an active volunteer at Our

Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and School while his children were in attendance. He also

enjoyed participating in local Mardi Gras festivities, especially the Joe Cain Parade. In recent

years, Brad served as supervisor of porch activities at his home on Mobile Bay.

Everyone who knew Brad is asked to celebrate his life in their own way, perhaps by toasting him

with a glass of their favorite drink, or by performing an act of kindness in his memory.
