Billie Sue Nelson Berthaume

Billie Sue Nelson Berthaume – a 69 year-old native of Andalusia, Alabama and resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Mrs. Berthaume was a graduate of Andalusia High School and then attended Troy State where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree and received a Master’s Degree from the University of South Alabama. She was a self-employed vocational expert until her retirement in 2020. She enjoyed gardening and spending time at the beach surrounded by her daughters, granddaughters, trusted companion, “Max”, and other family members.

Mrs. Berthaume was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Berthaume; daughter, Laura Ashley Berthaume; parents, Bill and Gertrude Nelson; and in-laws, Arnold and Mary Nell Berthaume; brother, Don Nelson. She is survived by her daughters, Amy Berthaume and Sara Roberts (Hansen); grandchildren, Anne David Roberts and Hayes Roberts; sister, Loretta Mott; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering for Mrs. Berthaume will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama 36606. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Ronald McDonald House, 1626 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL 36604.
