Annette Byrd Diehl Williams

Annette Byrd Diehl Williams went to be in the arms of Jesus on September 23, 2021. She was born July 24, 1933, in Lucedale, Mississippi to James Grady Byrd and Effie Whatley Byrd. She grew up in Mobile and was a proud graduate of Murphy High School. She married George Roland Diehl in January 1956 and was happily married to him until his passing in July 1978. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Cindy Diehl White. Annette married Charles Herbert Williams in July 1987 and they enjoyed their retirement years traveling and spending time together until his death in April 2003.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Effie and Grady Byrd and her only sibling, Ronnie (Mary Lou) Byrd. Annette is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Tim) White and grandson Matthew (Crystal) Hockman, her bonus children: Patsy (James) Dunnam, Jane (Lester) Cooley, Paula (John) Hancock and Mark Williams. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Annette worked in the accounting department for various local businesses. Her last employer prior to retirement was WKP Wilson Insurance. In her free time, she loved volunteering at Springhill Memorial and was a member of the Springhill Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (pink ladies) where she served in various officer positions , including President. These women held a special place in her heart and became some of her dearest friends.

She was a faithful Christian and was a member for much of her life at Myers Memorial Baptist Church, Orchard Baptist Church, Tanner Williams United Methodist Church, and Spring Hill Baptist Church.

Arrangements for Annette will be Tuesday, September 28, at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be from 11AM- 12PM and service immediately following. Interment will be for family and close friends at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
