Norman “Scotty” Campbell was born December 11, 1929 in Los Angeles, California two months after the great stock market crash of 1929 and the start of the Great Depression of the 1930’s Norman was an only child in a family of modest means. His mother and father did their best to provide for him but unfortunately, he lost his mother to an illness when he was nine. His father Edgar, Uncle Bud and Aunt Madeline all helped raise young Norman.
Norman graduated from Garfield High School in 1948. During High School, he met and fell in love with Anona Jeanne Propes of Montebello High School. They were married on September 3, 1950. They were blessed with two children Russell and Richard.
Norman joined the U.S. Navy in 1951. He served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Marine Corps Unit during the Korean War; He was Honorably Discharged in 1955. After serving his country, he took on roles in the medical industry but seemed to enjoy new construction and made a good living in the pioneer days of the low voltage industry. He would stay in this industry for the next 50 years.
Norman enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His loving wife, Jeanne was in the travel business so the two of them enjoyed many trips with both friends and family all over the world. Norman was blessed with two grandchildren Christina and Taylor. He spent many happy hours over the years playing games, giving piggyback rides and attending their important events even limousine rides.
If you knew Norman, you were better off for it. He had a wonderful smile, a beautiful spirit, and an abiding faith in Jesus. He walked it every day. He is now free from that body that served him so well for so long. He is now reunited with his sweetheart, all of his old friends and his loving Creator.
God bless you Norman Campbell.
