A master carpenter and general contractor by trade and a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather by choice, Lenny was a kind, kind man. He was a man who would do anything for you at the drop of a hat – literally NO favor, big or small, was a no from him, no matter what time of day. He loved music, he loved donuts, he loved movies, he loved building, he loved history, he loved ice cream, he loved cats, he loved dogs, he loved his family, and he was one funny son of a bitch.
Lenny leaves behind a beloved family, each member a cherished part of his life. His devoted wife, Dréa Bovee (née Petritsch), remained his steadfast partner in all of life's adventures. His children, Brian (Tasha), Ron (Deanna), Kasey (Cesar), and PJ (Meag), will remember him as an inspiring father who instilled in them the values of hard work, kindness, and humor. Lenny's grandchildren – Meaghan, McKenzie, Maddie, Erik, Francine, and Riley – and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Finley – brought him true joy and pride. They, along with his sister Linda and the rest of his family, continue to carry his legacy forward.
He joins his parents, Jeanette and Leonard Bovee, Sr., who predeceased him, leaving behind memories filled with love and wisdom that continue to guide those he loved.
Lenny's legacy is one of boundless generosity, unwavering kindness, and a knack for bringing joy and laughter into every room, plus an ability to fall asleep pretty much anywhere. His handiwork as a carpenter graces countless homes, a testament to his skill and dedication. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the stories they will continue to share.
A private service for family and close friends will be held on November 27th at Fairhaven Memorial Services in Mission Viejo at 11am. In lieu of flowers, have a donut, have a beer, or make a donation to a cause you think Lenny would have enjoyed (animals and children are safe bets) and share a couple of your favorite stories about him.
