Justin Michael Ames

It is with our deepest sorrow, that we announce the passing of Justin M. Ames, age 46, who shed this mortal coil suddenly after a courageous battle against multiple medical conditions, on August 12, 2021 while in the hospital. He was a resident of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.

Born on June 10, 1975 in San Diego, CA, to his parents Geri and Michael Ames, he grew up in Huntington Beach, CA where he graduated from Oceanview High School in 1993 and attended Goldenwest College. It was during this time Justin, who always marched to his own drummer, developed his interests in music (blues, rock, alternative), a sophisticated culinary palate, mathematics, all things Godzilla and computers.

Justin went on to pursue a career In computers, after realizing his potential in the IT field and given an opportunity to grow by an employer early on. Subsequently he spent 12 years with one of the largest national banks, becoming one of their vice-presidents in their IT division. Justin was working in a similar position with one of the up-and-coming regional banks at the time of his demise. Always eager to accept new challenges and work hard, Justin strove to be the best he could be in his field, earning the respect of many of his associates.

In the last few years of his life, Justin surprised friends and family by revealing a previously unknown talent. Despite the demanding time his IT career held, not to mention raising a young family, he started writing short stories, the very first of which was published upon initial submission. He went on to have a number of subsequent efforts published and became involved with several writing groups.

Justin will be missed every day by his wife Jennifer; his precious daughters Audrey and Zoey; parents Geri and Michael; sister Christina and husband Greg; nephews Jacob, Nicholas and Christopher; his aunts, uncle and extended family, as well as a great many friends.

Justin was always family oriented and especially devoted to his girls. His greatest joy was spending time with his family going on trips, be it a vacation, a day trip or just hanging at home with them. With an inherently generous nature, Justin was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need at any time. His infectious smile, compassion, intellect and quick wit garnered him many friends from all aspects of his life. Suffice it to say: Justin seldom met a face he did not try to put a smile on. May his memory continue to evoke the same for all who will remember him.
