Mrs. Ann Click Morris Moore entered into the immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on August 30th 2023. Ann was born on July 8, 1939 to Herman Lester Morris and Clara Byerly Click Morris in Winston-Salem North Carolina. She graduated from James A. Gray High School a recipient of the National Honor Society. She attended and graduated The Women’s college of the University of North Carolina with a degree in Commercial Curriculum. Upon graduation she worked for the Social Security Administration. While working there she met the love of her life Mr. Benjamin Moore. They were married on April 11, 1964. They had two wonderful children. A son Benjamin Eugene Moore IV of Laguna Beach, Ca and Susan Morris Moore Nelson of San Clemente, Ca.
Ann was very active in both of her children’s lives. She was a member of the PTA, homeroom mom and even wrote the Ala Mater for Ben’s school Esperanza. She was an accomplished seamstress and volunteered to sew the choir and band vests for Del Cerro, Susan’s school. She also made many Halloween costumes and costumes for plays. Ann was one of several “stay at home” Moms in the neighborhood and she gladly shared the responsibilities. Friends and neighbors were always a priority.
Ben’s job provided many opportunities for travel. Road trips to Utah and Arizona were always a hit singing the greatest hits of the 70’s. Ann especially loved the big trade show trips. The annual “toy show” In New York exposed them to many Broadway musicals… Cats and Phantom of the Opera were among her favorites. Hawaii was always the most anticipated trip of all. Fragrant leis, luaus and a visit with Ben’s brother the Commander of Pearl Harbor David B. Ames Moore and his delightful wife Lana.
Dreams came true when their daughter Susan met and married Chad Christopher Nelson. They also had two wonderful children. Joshua Lawrence and Samuel Benjamin, all hailing from San Clemente. Ann and Ben enjoyed attending birthday parties, holiday celebrations, baby sitting, award banquets, soccer games and swim meets.
Ann is survived by her son Benjamin Eugene Moore IV of Laguna Beach, daughter Susan Moore Nelson and her husband Chad Christopher Nelson, dearly loved grandchildren Joshua and Samuel Nelson of San Clemente. Her brother Lester Morris Jr of Clemmons NC, her nephews Lester Morris (Baron) of Philadelphia and John Morris (Melanie) of Summerfield NC their children Brooks and Caroline Morris.
Ann was a devoted wife, a beloved mother and a loving grandmother.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
