A remarkable husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend that was Angelo “Mike” Ocampo, 73, went to rest at the Lord’s side on February 19, 2023. The world’s best cheerleader, this gentle spirit was known for his inspiring ambition, unshakable optimism, immense compassion, and, especially, his boundless love for his family. No one will forget his heart of gold and bright infectious smile.
Mike Ocampo was born in Caloocan City, Philippines, on September 24, 1949. He was the third of five children born to proud parents, Virginia Medina and Tony Ocampo. In 1981, Mike met the love of his life, Becky, and the happy couple married two years later. Together, they brought two amazing children into the world, Jason and Marc, their pride and joy.
In addition to being a husband and a father, Mike made many other great accomplishments in his life. He was a radio host, a concert producer, and a passionate basketball player in his younger years. The driven entrepreneur successfully launched several businesses, including LA rendezvous, Smart Pic Mart and Sunset Haven Assisted Living Home.
His family will forever treasure the memories of enthusiastically watching thrilling Lakers games with him, his passion for food and music, his special bond with his grandson, his affection towards their late pets Kobe & Kookie, and the simple way he could touch one’s heart with unconditional support, warmth, and most importantly, his boundless love for everyone who came into his life.
Mike was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Virginia Medina and Tony Ocampo, and his eldest brother, Obet. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Becky Ocampo, two incredible sons, Jason and his wife Carla, Marc and his wife Stephanie, and an adorable grandchild Mason Luke; former wife Myrna Saguros and children Marian, Brian, Miriam, and Adrian, with grandchildren Chloe, Chelsea, Brandon, Sabrina, Caleb, Hannah, Ethan, Ryan, Anne Jeanette, Maia, and Skye.
