Maria G. De Leon

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco X. De Leon; her parents Elias and Bonifacia Perez, and her sister Abigail Barrera.

Maria was born in Mexico City on March 7, 1943, to Elias and Bonifacia Perez. In February 1967, she married Francisco Xavier De Leon, and she devoted her life to raising their three children, Francisco Xavier Jr., Edna Dinora, and Hector Gustavo. Maria, who had 9 grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Andrew, Francisco X. III, Kayla, Ximena, Hector, Alex Jr., and Elysha loved to be called “Mema”.

Maria was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, most especially over the holidays. She loved to watch novellas, nature documentaries, and cooking shows during her free time. Maria was known to have a green thumb, she enjoyed spending her time gardening and taking care of her plants. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Maria and Francisco are together once again.

The visitation for Maria Guadalupe De Leon will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
