He was born to Gregory and Polina Brodetsky on May 1, 1953. He was raised in Moscow, Russia with his sister, Larissa. When he was 20 years old he met the love of his life, Valentina while vacationing at a beach resort. They married in July 1974. Together, they had 1 daughter, Jenya. In 1989, the family made a difficult decision to immigrate to the United States.
Yury loved many things, including reading, traveling, discussing philosophy, and spending time with his friends; however, he loved his family the most. Yury is survived by his wife Valentina, his daughter Jenya (Barry), his grandchildren Sofia and Caiden, his sister Larissa (Yury), his nephews, and many close cousins.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 pm on May 12, 2024 at Eden Memorial Park on the corner of Sepulveda Blvd and Rinaldi St.
