Daniel Rosenblatt

Daniel was born in Brooklyn, New York to Samuel and Lillian Rosenblatt. He had two brothers, Lionel and Sidney and has one surviving sister, Helen. After serving in the Air Force-Army during World War II he met Rose Sugarman in Flint, Michigan at a war veteran’s dance. It was love at first sight. They married and four years later Barbara was born. He was a very devoted family man, enjoyed his weekend fishing trips and had a great passion for carpentry.

Daniel worked for General Motors as a tool and die machinist for 33 years before retiring and moving to California. While living in Palmdale, California, he volunteered at the hospital passing out books and making everyone laugh with his quirky humor. Seven years ago he moved to Bakersfield to be closer to family. He loved playing cards and teaching others to play “Kings in the Corner”, mostly because he usually won.

Daniel is preceded in death by his second wife, Bettyrose Sachs. He is survived by his daughter Barbara (Stan) Sachs; grandsons Brian (Tracy) Sachs of Aurora, Colorado and Todd (Rachel) Sachs of Los Angeles; great grandchildren Ellie Rose Sachs of Aurora, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held, Sunday, October, 27, 2013, 2:00 PM at Eden Memorial Park, Mission Hills.

Arrangements are under the directions of Groman Eden Mortuary, Mission Hills.
