She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Arthur H. Snyder; her daughters, Bonnie Rubin (Brad), Robin Snyder (Ron) and Rachel; her grandchildren, Mollie and Adam; her siblings Rosalind Mishkind, Rick Cabin (Susan) and Debbie Cabin (Gary) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Barbara was born on 2/7/37 to David and Molly Cabin (Gorman) in Youngstown, OH. She moved to LA in 1947, graduated LA High in 1955 and earned her BS from Columbia University in 1959. Barbara and Arthur lived in LA for over 50 years, where she had a career as a dental hygienist and a realtor.
Barbara's life centered on her family and her ties to Judaism. She loved the holidays, celebrations that brought everyone together, traveling and attending her grandchildren’s activities. Barbara was a docent at Skirball Cultural Center for 35 years and was active in her high school reunion committee.
Barbara was incredibly loyal and formed numerous friendships that spanned decades. She demonstrated incredible strength and determination throughout her life. She never gave up fighting and, despite her illness, she talked of places she planned to visit and things she wanted to do. She was a true matriarch and she will be missed by countless people.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 16 at 10:00 AM at Eden Memorial Park.
Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through her daughters' fundraising page.
