Lyn was quiet, kind, serious, giving and fiercely protective of her four children. In spite of the effects of the polio she contracted at an early age, her children fondly recall her doing cartwheels with them in the yard when they were young. She taught them the value of hard work and loyalty and encouraged them to follow their own paths. She was extremely proud of them. She worked for 25 years for Cardiac Pacemakers Inc. (currently Boston Scientific) and felt most fulfilled in her role as a Test Equipment Technician.
Lyn loved animals and was known to take in more than one stray. She also loved to watch for foxes, hummingbirds, and deer while drinking her morning coffee on the deck at her home in Lino Lakes. Though not an avid flyer, she supported Clayton in his dream of living on an airpark and enjoyed flying once in a while, especially to see grandchildren.
Lyn was an avid fisherwoman with a penchant for catching bass. She saw beauty in leafless oak trees and pastures. She sewed beautiful clothes for her grandchildren. Lyn was a lover of castles (and everything castle related), and always dreamed of visiting the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. She liked collecting all things butterfly and bunnies. Lyn enjoyed touring model homes, decorating, shopping for furniture and bargain hunting at garage sales.
Over the past year she had connected in new ways with her grandchildren through messaging and Skype. Her move to smart phone was a point of pride. She treasured her relationships with family and members of her care team.
Lynda passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24th surrounded by her children, husband, grandson Mack, and sister Barb. She is now at peace and with God.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved uncle and aunt, Richard and Vivian DeWitt. She is deeply missed by her husband, Clayton Wendt; her two siblings; her four children: Sheri Nelsen (Randy), Wendy Edlund (Dana Headley), Shawn Edlund (Sandy), and Heather Massie (David); and her seven grandchildren: Christina, Madelyn, Mack, Emily, Rebecca, Matthew, and Anna.
