He is preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; parents, Waldermar and Florence Johnson; sisters, Victoria, Virginia, Bernice, Marilyn; son-in-law, Kenneth Cooke; and brother, Wallace.
Lowell is survived by his daughter, Sheri (Lou) Cooke-Lokker; grandchildren, Austin (and fiancée Rachel), and Ashley; special friend, May Lund; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Lowell was proud of his military service in the Army Reserves. He served from 1957 until 1959 and was honorably discharged as a Private First-Class helicopter mechanic. He had three years of college education in electronics. He worked for Norris Creamery, Dennison Co., and started his own business as a general contractor installing marquees and patio covers. Lowell was diagnosed with MS at age 37 in 1971. Once he was in remission, he took courses in heating and air conditioning, and started another business providing those services.
Lowell loved being outdoors - hunting, fishing, even gardening. Birdwatching and deer gazing in his older years. He loved to watch sports, especially football - Go Vikings! He found joy in watching history and educational shows. Spending time with family and traveling was very important to Lowell; he loved being around his grandkids. He taught many life lessons and gave great advice. He was a very humble man, and he will be deeply missed.
