Our wonderful Jean was such an important part of all our families’ lives.  She was always very beautiful, very smart, quietly shy, and fun with a great sense of humor, and an infectious laugh that got you every time.  She was very simply always fun to be with.  She was also a serious, kind, and loving Christian.  Her life showed the reality of this in so many ways.  She was an amazing caretaker of her family and friends as well.  Her daughter and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all reflect the essence of her strength, quiet kindness, and her life.

She was very close with all her sisters and later in her life Jean and her husband, Kenny were best friends and vacation buddies with my mom (her sister Beverly) and Sandy, my dad.  We all also took summer trips to the islands of Lake Vermillion, which was always a piece of Heaven for everyone, but especially for all of us kids in the family.  Jean was an integral part of all our family activities and was diligently, effectively there for all of us…..Uncle Kenny provided the boating and water-skiing fun.  My Aunt Jean had a generous spirit, gentleness, kindness, and a quiet, loving concern for everyone in our family.
   
I very much miss my remarkable and awesome Aunt Jean.  I realize I am so grateful for having known and loved her. Memories of her and all those amazing, departed family members she loved - and now stands beside them again as one family - will live in my heart forever. 

My Aunt Jean knew that to live in Christ will eventually bring her to the end of her life, and then death will become her new beginning. 

I am altering this scripture just a tiny bit, but the message still rings true:
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: she that believeth in me, though she were dead, yet shall she live.”  John 11:25

Jean was always so pleasant to be with.  She was a wonderful grandmother to Sarah and Kenny, and great grandma to
Xander and Leon.  She will be missed.

Aunt Jean was just 3 weeks and 1 day from her 10th birthday, when I was born, and they named me after her--Carole Jean.  Because she was the youngest of four sisters, she was more like an older sister to me.  In my teen years, we stabled our horses at a farm near her house, allowing us many enjoyable hours of riding together and bonding in the beautiful woods of Minnesota.   When she married  Uncle Kenny, I was her Junior Bridesmaid.  Many years later, she was my Matron of Honor and Linda was my Flower Girl.  When we moved to California, she, Uncle Kenny and Linda  visited us, and we all went to the beautiful Rose Bowl Parade in 1966.  Over the years, we all visited many times in CA, Phoenix, Yellowstone,  Lake Vermillion, Minnesota, Atlanta, and Florida.  Always a fun time when we were together.   We stayed in touch by phone in later years, but as we all
know...none of us gets out of this world alive.  When Aunt Jeannie's time came, I was happy that at last she was with all of her loved ones in heaven.   I'm sure they were all there to welcome her home, just as they will one day be there to welcome me home.   I miss our phone calls, but I will see her again one day.

Jean was a lovely, gentle lady.  She was a gracious hostess.  She adored her family.  She will be missed, I am glad for her gentle peace.  Love and blessings to Linda, Mark and their family.
