Dorothy E. Bergren

Dorothy Bergren, age 90, passed away peacefully the morning of December 20, 2021 with her husband of 65 years near her side. She was born in Oakland, NE on November 21, 1931. Survived by beloved husband Allen; sister Carolyn; and sister-in-law Rhoda; loving mother of sons Roger (Joanne) and Ron (Kris); daughters Diane (Brian) and Mary (Jonn); dear grandmother of Michelle (Carl), Christina (Joseph), Jennifer (Dan), Lindsey, and Ryan; great-grandchildren Eleanora, Oliver, Madelyn, Henry, Gunnar, Max, Leo and Everly; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved parents Alvin and Myrtle; brother Donald; sisters Marian and Eloise; and daughter Shirley Ann.

Dorothy grew up in rural Wakefield, NE and moved to Omaha where she finished high school. She moved to Minneapolis, MN where she met her husband, Allen, during a Luther League event at Augustana Lutheran Church. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the joy of her life, and she enjoyed spending time outdoors playing with her grand and great-grandchildren over the years. She was active with church and enjoyed visiting with friends, was an avid reader, loved doing word games, and studying the word of God.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28th at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior at: Hope Lutheran Church, 5200 Emerson Ave. N., Minneapolis. Private family interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to express special loving thanks to her care givers at Maranatha Care Center for the kind and compassionate care they gave Dorothy over the last 2 years.
