Laura Dee Fullenwider Robinson, 76, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died May 3, 2024, in Carson Valley Health Hospital, Gardnerville, NV, of complications related to Alzheimer’s.
Born October 29, 1947, in Livermore, CA to rancher John Henry “Jack” Fullenwider and home maker Margaret Foxworthy. She lived in various towns and cities in her life such as Livermore, Tracy, Cedarville, and Stockton, California as well as Yerington, Fallon, Lemon Valley, and Lovelock, Nevada and Lakeview, Oregon.
Laura whose nickname from childhood was “Punkie” started 1st grade at the now historic Barnett School in Yerington, NV which taught all grades from 1st to 8th grade in one classroom. She attended other schools in Lovelock, Livermore and Fallon where she graduated from Churchill High School in 1965.
Laura was a very outgoing creative person and she loved to paint, sew and make crafts. She used that creativity and love of art to start and run her businesses including a Sewing/Quilt shop and later an Art Framing Studio both in Yerington, NV. She loved to cook and made delicious jellies and jams which went so well with her family’s favorite sourdough pancakes. She also made the best peanut butter candy at Christmas and she and her husband Larry entered and won several chili cook-off competitions as well.
Laura enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours gardening, growing flowers and vegetables, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, and going for rides on quads or side by side. She also loved many horses, cats and dogs over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts Jayne Sceirine, Mary Elizabeth “Babe” Hansen, and Beatrice Pavlow, uncles Russ Rasmusson, Oliver Johnston, Thomas Foxworthy, Donald Foxworthy, Charles Foxworthy, and Mark Foxworthy, brother-in-law Norman Marciel, sister-in-law Marilyn Fullenwider, niece Dena Fullenwider, and infant sister Linda Fullenwider.
Laura is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry Robinson, her children Chris Daniels (Kimmie), Carson City, NV; Rebecca Bacon Robinson, Modesto, CA; and Allen Robinson (Tot), Minden, NV. She is also survived by her sisters Lillian Fullenwider Marciel, Livermore, CA; and Jan Fullenwider Buckmaster (Fred), Fallon, NV, and her brothers John Fullenwider (Delores) and Clyde Wayland (Linda) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Laura was the proud grandmother of her 5 grandchildren: Case Bacon, Amanda Bacon, Hunter Robinson, Kaitlyn Robinson and Charlie Robinson.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends to be determined at a later date and time.
